Supplier Development

Emory University's Goizueta Business School  Start:ME Accelerator provides promising entrepreneurs located in the Atlanta area neighborhoods the training, mentorship, and capital to start and grow successful businesses. Since its inception in 2013, the program has supported more than 250 Atlanta micro-businesses, 84% of which are owned and operated by entrepreneurs of color.

Emory University participates in several matchmakers per year in multiple supply chain and construction categories held by local organizations such as the local offices of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and Small Business Administration, and Plexus.

The Supplier Diversity Subcontracting Program is an initiative of Emory University to provide maximum opportunities to participate in subcontracts awarded by the University to small, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses. Its purpose is to assist small businesses become financially sound and to foster the development of business relationships between the University and these types of businesses.

Emory University convenes a quarterly expert council specializing in supplier diversity and regional economic development to support the development and execution of optimal supplier diversity initiatives. The council utilizes Emory University's supplier diversity data to monitor progress and ensure accountability in pursuit of defined objectives.
