To participate in Emory University's supplier diversity program, please follow the instructions listed in “Doing Business with Emory."

There are a number of ways. The ideal diverse supplier will have:

  • At least one diverse business classification
  • A strong credit rating
  • Positive brand recognition
  • Solid references

Emory's Procurement and Support Services department:

  • Works closely with the sourcing managers, buyers, and end users in sourcing diverse suppliers
  • Negotiates industrial standard commodities with Small MWBEs
  • Holds large contract suppliers accountable to assisting Procurement with Tier 1 Small MWBEs
  • Assists with composing small business subcontracting plans (SBSPs) on all federal contracts that exceed $700,000
  • Attends team meetings during the federal solicitation process and/or the Notification of Award (NOA)
  • Encourages engagement and support from executive leadership
  • Prepares documentation for the federal reporting process, including reports on whether minority goals have been achieved
  • Tracks and monitors quarterly reports
  • Coaches' diverse suppliers on how to do business with Emory University
